(head office: Nagoya city in Aichi pref., president: Toshiharu Saburi) which is a software company in Tokyo Boeki group developed [NASadapter 4] that is able to unify up to 4 units of NAS (Network Attached Storage) to create one large virtual storage. NASadapter will be released on 16th, May. T.B.TECH CO., LTD. will take this opportunity to enter storage solution business.

So far, when using several NAS, the user had to be aware of each NAS. This software allocates the capacity of up to 4 units of NAS to a virtualized NAS, thusly the user can use it as a single NAS without concern of multiple NAS.

As well as "NAS virtualization function" that virtualizes multiple NAS, NASadapter 4 has "virtual expansion function" that expands the capacity of shared folder, and “virtual backup function” that takes backups of virtualized NAS. This way NASadapter best fits such applications as the file server for the office with the data that keeps increasing or is hard to estimate its volume, and as backup media for space-consuming data. Backup function of NASadapter ensures high-reliability of the file server.

"NAS virtualization function"
Normally when connecting 4 units of NAS, they are seen as 4 computers in the network. NASadapter unifies them providing one single NAS with capacity of 4 units of NAS.
"virtual expansion function"
For example, when initial 2 units of NAS at implementation is no longer enough for operation, it is possible to extend the capacity. NASadapter 4 will not require reconfiguration at expansion, just setting by an easy tool will make available.
"virtual backup function" (*1, *2)
This conducts an automatic backup of virtual NAS transparently. Reliability of NAS itself and storage is strengthened.
*1 Usage of virtual backup function reduces the capacity by half.
*2 Minimal structure of the system starts with 2 units of NAS.
