The first step involves backing up your local data to the remote NASadapter server. This is performed with the use of NASadapter's backup software or your local backup software. Once this has been completed, the remote NASadapters can be used to backup your data.

In the event of a file server outage, the data located on the remote NASadapter server may be accessed to prevent business disruption. Once the file server has been recovered, the data can be restored from the remote NASadapter server.
